If you loved jumping into muddy puddles as a kid, this four-hour excursion is for you. Two people can complete this tour for under $85 CDN, as one drives and the other rides as passenger. As you make your way through the countryside’s rough and muddy terrain you will stop at three locations. These stops will allow for you and your partner to switch roles as you see fit.
The first stop is at a plantation for an introduction on some of Dominican Republic’s infamous produce: tobacco, coffee and cacao. The next stop is a swimming hole where you can descend into underground waters of a natural cave. The last stop is at Macao beach, one of Punta Cana’s last “resort free” coastal stretches. This beautiful secluded beach was a great way to end the tour and gave everyone the perfect opportunity to clean off.
I found this excursion to be extremely fun and I recommend it to anyone who can handle getting a little mud in their face. The only thing I didn’t care for, was the stop at the cave. First, you are not given a lot of time to make the descend into the cave to enjoy it. And secondly, the locals are camped out front aggressively trying to sell you something you don’t want.
I recommend wearing a bathing suit underneath the clothes you are ok with possibly ruining. I would also wear a bandana to help keep the mud and dust out of your mouth. In short, plan to get dirty, otherwise; you are not doing it right.

Is the track quite difficult to drive?
The roads were wide and flat which made for an easy drive.
