Hi, my name is Elise and I have an addiction to travelling. This affliction originated in 2011 with the purchase of my passport. It was confirmed when I landed in Punta Cana, for my little sister’s destination wedding. Although I have done some globe-trotting since then, I would still consider myself as a travel novice. However green I may feel in the art of travelling; I am still the person my friends and family turn to for advice.
I am a divorced woman in my early 40’s with no children. As motherhood was not a gift I was granted, I decided to soak up as much life experience as I can. Knowing that I could never get back the years I wasted with the wrong man, my only option was to move forward. I was left with a feeling of wanting more; more experiences, more accomplishments and more time.
Why I Made A Bucket List
After hearing about a friend or co-working talk about the amazing adventure they had, have you ever thought, “I’ve always wanted to do that” or “maybe someday”. Well, I decided to make a bucket list out of all those some days’, maybe’s and wishes I only dreamed about. The idea to make my official written list came from watching a cute television series, called “No Tomorrow”. The show taught me that my dreams are not impossible, and I can make them a reality with a little effort. Plus, I wanted to feel the same freedom and joy that these characters felt without being weighed down by the routine and stress that my life was currently offering me.
My bucket list consists of a variety of items that involve travel, adventure, and life experiences. You can view my entire list here and follow me as I share my completed experiences. I have a feeling that my list will continue to grow, but as long as I can check items off: I know that I am living…. Living my Bucket List.
My Background
When I am not off on an adventure, I am usually working. I have two part-time jobs in the medical administration field. I love to write and create but was unable to make anything from my Journalism-Print diploma. Going back to school for a Medical Office Administrator was the best decision I’ve made for myself. Another great decision, was choosing my current relationship with an amazing man named, Curtis. Curtis and I share the same love for travelling, so his name and picture will continue to come up from time to time.
I decided to put this blog together to not only help those friends and family members, who already come to me for advice, but also anybody who needs a little inspiration into making their own bucket list adventures come true.
